  • Women’s College Basketball: #11 North Carolina Tar Heels vs. #3 UCLA Bruins at 9:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2

UCLA is fresh off a decisive win over a top-10 Oklahoma team that maybe should have stuck to sports, am I right? Utah transfer Gianna Kneepkens led the way in that one with 20 points. Now, they face off against a Tar Heel team featuring a familiar face in former Bruin Elina Aarnisalo. Can she help North Carolina’s offense at all? They are on a 3-year streak of finishing no better than 90th in the country in offensive rating.

  • College Football: Clemson Tigers @ #20 Louisville Cardinals at 7:30 pm (ET) on ESPN

The schedule makers had to think this one was going to have playoff implications for both teams, right? Still plenty to play for! Louisville just suffered an embarrassing loss to Cal, but still has eyes on the ACC title game. They’ll need to win out and get some help to make it happen, but remember what Kevin Garnett said. Clemson is playing for bowl eligibility. The Tigers are trying to reach that precious 6-win mark for the 27th straight season. The last time they failed, they fired their coach. They’ve got 3 games to get two wins. Someone stop them, please.

  • College Football: #9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish @ #22 Pittsburgh Panthers at 12:00 pm (ET) on ABC

No matter how many losses Notre Dame has, they will always be the highest-ranked of the teams with that many losses. That’s a rule handed down by Touchdown Jesus Himself. This year, they are the highest-ranked 2-loss team. This will be their last chance to log a win that might be impressive enough to make some of us non-voters forget that they opened the season with back-to-back losses. Pitt is right in the thick of the ACC title mix, and this will be the first of three straight top-25 matchups to end their regular season.

  • College Football: #21 Iowa Hawkeyes @ #17 USC Trojans at 3:30 pm (ET) on BTN

There’s an annoying segment of college football fandom that aims to prove how quirky they are by celebrating the most awful aspects of the game. This led to way too many “OMG LOL!” tweets about an absolutely pitiful Iowa offense in 2023. You rarely hear about the Hawkeyes now that their offense has improved to mediocre, which is unfortunate because they’re actually having a nice season.

They’ve lost three games by a combined 10 points, and two of those losses have come against teams currently ranked in the top-10. They’ll be an underdog on the road against the Trojans’ high-powered attack, but offensive prowess goes out the window against the Hawkeyes’ defense. This will be a battle.

  • College Football: #10 Texas Longhorns @ #5 Georgia Bulldogs at 7:30 pm (ET) on ABC

It’s rare that a team in the top-10 this late in the season feels like a disappointment, but it’s also rare to enter a season with as much hype as the Longhorns had. However, Texas could still find itself back in the SEC Championship game when it’s all said and done. The path starts here against the team that defeated them in last year’s title game.

You want more college football coverage? Check out this week’s episode of the Nameless College Football Show, where P.D. and I discuss why the Heisman no longer feels like it matters.

  • Women’s College Basketball: #2 South Carolina Gamecocks @ #8 Southern Cal Trojans at 9:00 pm (ET) on Fox

JuJu Watkins’ injury took away some of the luster from the Battle for the Real USC, but there’s still plenty to be excited about. Trojans star freshman Jazzy Davidson capped off her 21/4/4/3/5 performance against a tough NC State team by hitting the game-winner. Hell of a welcome to college hoops by having to turn around and face Dawn Staley’s team. The Gamecocks looked mostly uninspired against rival Clemson before flipping the switch defensively and holding the Tigers to just 2 points in the 4th quarter. I suspect they’ll look a bit more motivated from the jump in this one. Get your 3-month-olds to sleep early, folks!

  • Men’s College Basketball: #1 Houston Cougars @ #22 Auburn Tigers at 3:00 pm (ET) on ESPN

Remember when Auburn forced their pilot to turn the plane around, angry dad style, because they got in a fight on the way to last year’s game against Houston? The Tigers won that one, but both teams ultimately had their hearts ripped out by Florida when they were close enough to a national title to taste it. Notorious dickhead Bruce Pearl stepped aside just before the season started to ensure his son, Steven, would take over for him. Outside of being hired by his daddy, Steven’s only professional experience is being a medical sales rep. What could go wrong?

  • NFL: Detroit Lions @ Philadelphia Eagles at 8:20 PM (ET) on NBC

Are you ready for the Uncle Ruckus Bowl?!? Saquon Barkley told people to stop talking to him about politics after he went golfing with Donald Trump. I repeat, he told people to stop talking to him about politics after he went golfing with the most divisive POLITICIAN of our lifetime. I mean, look at this shit:

Amon-Ra St. Brown was angling for his own golf trip invite during last week’s game against the Commanders. With Trump in attendance, St. Brown decided to dance for daddy. Keep in mind that despite the headlines and St. Brown’s pointing to the President’s seat, Trump was almost certainly not in the stadium yet. Just an embarrassment all around.

Oh yeah, these are two of the best teams in the NFC coming off important wins, so the game should be good or whatever.

  • Men’s College Basketball: Florida A&M Rattlers @ Georgia Bulldogs at 6:30 pm (ET) on SEC Network

Let’s play Six Degrees of Separation to make you feel old. Bulldogs sophomore Kanon Catchings comes from a basketball family. Mom, Tauja, was a college star and WNBA draft pick, and aunt, Tamika, is a basketball legend. This hoops family tree started with his grandfather, Harvey, who played 11 seasons in the NBA. The end of his career briefly overlapped with the beginning of the career of the man known as the “Human Highlight Film”, Dominique Wilkins, whose son, Jake, is a freshman on this Georgia team.

Nique’s own career ended as a member of the Orlando Magic during the lockout-shortened 1999 season. That was also the last year the New York Knicks made the NBA Finals. Their starting point guard that season? Florida A&M head coach Charlie Ward. When it comes to his athletic career, I mostly remember Ward for getting flipped into the crowd by P.J. Brown. However, if you’re a couple of years older than I am, you probably remember him as an ahead-of-his-time dual threat quarterback (he also punted as a freshman!) who led Florida State to their first-ever national title on his way to winning the Heisman Trophy in 1993.

The Seminoles won their 2nd national title in 1999. Anquan Boldin, who would go on to have a standout NFL career, was a freshman WR on that team. Anquan’s son, Anquan Jr., is a starting guard for Ward and the Rattlers. Okay, that should cover it all. Get your bowl of Werther’s ready and turn this one on.

  • Men’s College Basketball: #25 Kansas Jayhawks vs. #4 Duke Blue Devils at 9:00 pm (ET) on ESPN

At Madison Square Garden! The story, as is often the case in men’s college hoops these days, is about the freshmen. More specifically, Duke’s Boozer twins and Darryn Peterson of the Jayhawks. Cameron Boozer is very much reminiscent of his dad, Carlos. Brother Cayden is more of a do-it-all guard from what I’ve seen so far. I’ve seen Kobe comps for Peterson, but I’m certainly not ready to go there yet. He’s one hell of a player, though. But you don’t have to take my word for it!

  • NBA: Houston Rockets @ Cleveland Cavaliers at 7:00 pm (ET) on ESPN

ESPN dropped Warriors-Heat for this one after I had my write-up ready to go, so it damn sure better be good.

  • NBA: New York Knicks @ Dallas Mavericks at 9:30 pm (ET) on ESPN

Dallas finally fired Nico Harrison. Geez, you trade one generational superstar for a man made out of uncooked spaghetti noodles, and all of a sudden, you’re run out of town. Oh, don’t forget that he let current Knicks star Jalen Brunson leave without getting anything in return. Whoever gets the job next will have a hell of a mess to clean up, but the lowest bar ever to clear. It should be me.
