Screen Shots: March 6th-12th, 2025
March Madness begins! All of the conference title games on both the men's and women's sides!
Welcome to Screen Shots! This is where I tell you what sporting events you should watch on TV every week! Make sure you subscribe so it comes straight to your inbox! Have your own suggestions? Shoot me an email at [email protected]!
The Madness starts up this week, but first, check out my show! As you know, we are an Unrivaled Basketball family, so it was super cool to have the voice of Unrivaled Basketball, Brendan Glasheen, come through to talk about his play-by-play career, getting the Unrivaled job, and what we’ve been seeing on and off the court during the league’s inaugural season!
Now, to the sports!
Thursday, March 6th, 2025
Women’s College Basketball: SEC Tournament 2nd Round Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt Commodores at 11:00 am (ET) on SEC Network
We’re going to be covering a ton of college basketball in this one, so I’m trying to keep it to the conference tournament finals for the sake of brevity. However, an exception must be made for Vandy’s star freshman, Mikayla Blakes. She’s had 5 games of 30+ points, including 2 of more than 50! Perfect brunch-time viewing.
Women’s College Basketball: Norfolk State Spartans @ Howard Bison at 5:00 pm (ET) on ESPNU
The MEAC regular season finale between the top 2 teams in the conference. Spartans G Diamond Johnson is the favorite for Conference Player of the Year and could hear her name called in this year’s WNBA Draft. She currently leads the MEAC in points per game, steals per game, and 3-point shooting percentage.

Unrivaled Basketball: Laces vs. Phantom at 7:15 pm (ET) on TNT
These two have lost a combined 7 games in a row. Someone has to win…right?
Unrivaled Basketball: Rose vs. Lunar Owls at 8:15 pm (ET) on TNT
The Lunar Owls look to avenge the only blemish on their record. To do so, they are going to have to figure out how to stop Chelsea Gray. Good luck! After an injury-plagued WNBA season last year, the Point Gawd looks like she’s returned to her 2022 Finals MVP form.
Saturday, March 8th, 2025
NBA: Los Angeles Lakers @ Boston Celtics at 8:30 pm (ET) on ABC
I promise I’m not trying to turn this into a Lakers watch guide just because I’m a fan, but can you believe what’s going on with them? The second-best team in the Western Conference! Really! On top of that, we’ve got the league’s most storied rivalry, and, of course, the Celtics are the reigning NBA champions. Fun fact: It’s been over 2 years since these teams played here, and Patrick Beverly commandeered a photographer’s camera to try and get a call overturned.
Men’s College Basketball: OVC Championship Game at 9:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2
After what started as a tightly contested conference season, Southeast Missouri State surged ahead to win the regular season title as they look to claim their 2nd conference tournament championship in 3 seasons.
Sunday, March 9th, 2025
Men’s College Basketball: Big South Championship Game at 12:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2
A one-point loss in the semifinals to eventual conference tournament champion Longwood crushed High Point’s dreams of an NCAA Tournament appearance last season. After repeating as regular season champs this year, can they finish the job and earn the program’s first trip to the Big Dance?
Women’s College Basketball: SoCon Championship Game at 12:00 pm (ET) on ESPNU
UNC-Greensboro ran through the conference slate, losing just once in 14 games. Will someone manage to pull off an upset?
Women’s College Basketball: ACC Championship Game at 1:00 pm (ET) on ESPN
With 4 teams in the AP Top-15, we’re virtually guaranteed an awesome matchup no matter who survives.
Men’s College Basketball: A-SUN Championship Game at 2:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2
A wide-open race, as 6 teams finished with between 11 and 14 conference wins. One of those teams was NOT Austin Peay, but they did make headlines recently when leading scorer LJ Thomas became the 4 millionth player to vomit on the court this season. Sadly, my “Austin Peay? More like Austin Puke!” joke went underappreciated on Twitter.
Men’s College Basketball: MVC Championship Game at 2:10 pm (ET) on CBS
Let’s let Soulja Boy tell us who the favorite is:
Women’s College Basketball: SEC Championship Game at 3:00 pm (ET) on ESPN
It’ll be hard to top the, uhhh, excitement of last year’s game, but there’s a significant chance that this will be a winner-takes-all game for a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Women’s College Basketball: Summit League Championship Game at 4:00 pm (ET) on CBSSN
If they win it all, this would be the 3rd straight season that South Dakota State has gone undefeated in Summit League play and represented the conference in the NCAA Tournament. They’re strong enough to earn an at-large bid even without doing that, so tap in to make sure you’re familiar with them when you are filling out your bracket.
Women’s College Basketball: A-10 Championship Game at 4:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2
Richmond versus the (A-10) world. In their quest for a 2nd straight NCAA Tournament appearance, the Spiders have only lost a single conference game, a 2-point heartbreaker to Fordham. Can anyone else pull off an upset?
Women’s College Basketball: Big Ten Championship Game at 4:30 pm (ET) on CBS
A possible 3rd Battle of LA in Indianapolis! Will any of the OG Big Ten programs be able to take down the Pac-12 refugees?
Women’s College Basketball: Big 12 Championship Game at 5:00 pm (ET) on ESPN
TCU won their 1st Big 12 regular season title this year. Can they follow it up with their 1st conference tournament championship?
Women’s College Basketball: Big South Championship Game at 6:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2
High Point won the regular season title, but there were a handful of teams within striking distance, including my hometown Charleston Southern Buccaneers.
Men’s College Basketball: Summit League Championship Game at 9:00 pm (ET) on CBSSN
Most of these sound like made-up schools. Looking at you, St. Thomas Tommies. I’m watching to make sure they actually exist.
Monday, March 10th, 2025
Women’s College Basketball: Sun Belt Championship Game at 2:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2
Republicans are going to lose their shit when they find out James Madison has dominated women’s basketball in this conference all season long.
Women’s College Basketball: Big East Championship Game at 7:00 pm (ET) on FS1
Is there any way that this isn’t UConn versus Creighton with UConn winning?
Tuesday, March 11th, 2025
Women’s College Basketball: Horizon League Championship Game at 12:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2
There’s a Robert Morris in this conference, but the joke worked better with James Madison because Green Bay and Purdue Fort Wayne are the cream of the crop here. They faced off to end the regular season, and it was a 68-63 OT thriller that Green Bay managed to pull out. Their 1st matchup of the season was a 67-66 win by Purdue Fort Wayne. It’s only right that they meet for a 3rd time.
Women’s College Basketball: West Coast Conference Championship Game at 4:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2
The Gonzaga women’s regular season dominance in this conference rivals their men’s team, but Portland has managed to snag the last 2 conference tournament titles. And wouldn’t you know it, those 2 once again finished at the top of the conference standings.
Men’s College Basketball: West Coast Conference Championship Game at 9:00 pm (ET) on ESPN
Is St. Mary’s the new Gonzaga on the men’s side? What in the Drew Timme happened? Gaels star Augustas Marciulionis is the son of Basketball Hall of Famer Sarunas. Not only was he one of the toughest motherfuckers on the court, but he also owned a hotel he named after himself. I read this in a basketball almanac as a child and it’s the first thing I think of when I see his name.
Wednesday, March 12th, 2025
Men’s College Basketball: Southland Championship Game at 5:00 pm (ET) on ESPN2
2 conference losses combined in 2 seasons for McNeese St. with Will Wade as head coach. They even got their manager an NIL deal. It would be funny if Wade built them into a national powerhouse, but that’s not what people do these days, so let’s enjoy it while it lasts.
Women’s College Basketball: Big Sky Championship Game at 5:00 pm (ET) on ESPNU
6 different teams have won the last 6 conference tournaments. Assuming that trend continues, I’d put my money on Northern Arizona.
NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Boston Celtics at 7:30 pm (ET) on ESPN
Let’s break up the madness for a second for this potential NBA Finals matchup.
Women’s College Basketball: Mountain West Championship Game at 10:30 pm (ET) on CBSSN
UNLV has won 3 of these in a row, thanks to C Desi-Rae Young. They are once again atop the conference, so check them out for bracket purposes.
Men’s College Basketball: Big Sky Championship Game at 11:30 pm (ET) on ESPN2
Montana State has owned this one for the last 3 seasons, but they have some work to do after finishing below .500 in conference play.
As always, thank you for reading! Be sure to subscribe and share with a friend! I’ll see you next Thursday!
