  • NFL: First Round Coverage of the 2025 NFL Draft at 8:00 pm (ET) on ESPN/ABC

I’m working up the nerve to do a draft diary on this, similar to the one I did for the WNBA Draft a couple of weeks ago. Watch all of Round 1 and try to remember what it was like back when they did the first 3 rounds all in one day. This TikTok generation would never last!

  • College Softball: #3 Texas Longhorns @ #4 Oklahoma Sooners at 6:00 pm (ET) on ESPNU

At first glance, to softball newcomers like you and me, this is a great matchup. Two top-5 teams that are also rivals. Can’t ask for much more than that, right? Well, what if I told you that the Sooners have won the last FOUR Women’s College Softball World Series? And in the finals of two of those title runs, including last season, they beat the Longhorns to win it all? So yeah, tap into game 1 of their weekend series.

  • MLB: Texas Rangers @ San Francisco Giants at 4:05 pm (ET) on Fox

Fox likes to split games up regionally, so check your local listings and hope you get this one because the Rangers’ probable starter, Tyler Mahle, has been dealing to start the season. Opponents are batting .112 against him as he’s allowed just 2 earned runs in his 5 starts this season. Not bad for a guy who has only made 8 combined appearances in the previous 2 seasons due to Tommy John surgery. I’d say recovery is going well.

  • NBA: Denver Nuggets @ Los Angeles Clippers at 6:00 pm (ET) on TNT

This will be game 4 in what has been the most exciting first-round series so far. The series is tied at 1 game apiece, with neither game being decided by more than 3 points. The Nuggets are a team in shambles. They fired their head coach and their GM just days before the postseason started. They pay Michael Porter Jr. nearly $36 million a year to do cardio in between sporadically releasing episodes of his right-wing talking points podcast. But they have perhaps the greatest offensive center we’ve ever seen in Nikola Jokic.

The Clippers…look, I don’t even know what to say. Kawhi Leonard’s knees and Ben Simmons’ back were both made from the same batch of chicharrones. James Harden hasn’t shot consistently since giving Lil Baby a birthday present that made me look at my own friends differently. Kris Dunn was out of the NBA, then barely in the NBA in Utah. All of these players play a significant role on this team, and they are good! Make Ty Lue the new Pope.

  • NBA: New York Knicks @ Detroit Pistons at 1:00 pm (ET) on ABC

For those of us who enjoy watching 2 people we don’t like fight each other. Cade Cunningham is okay, except he willingly chooses to look like Guy Broccoli from The VeggieTales Show. Isaiah Stewart plays with the emotional stability of this Mike Tyson. Malik Beasley dated Larsa Pippen. Dennis Schroder is Dennis Schroder. Not a team that makes you angry per se, but you’d be pissed if you had to have them over for dinner.

Then, there’s the Knicks. KAT changes his voice to make it sound deeper the same way I did after someone called me “Mrs. Silvers” on the phone when I was 13. Jalen Brunson is one of the league’s most prolific floppers. Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart just look like they’re sickening as hell. I could do an entire series of posts on the fanbase alone. The league is more interesting when they’re good, but only because we know they will suffer disappointment eventually.

In addition to being hated by me, they also seem to hate each other. This has translated into some incredibly competitive games so far. Tune in and boo them both!

  • NBA: Los Angeles Lakers @ Minnesota Timberwolves at 3:30 pm (ET) on ABC

You’re never going to believe this, but Anthony Edwards was fined by the league. Turns out, Adam Silver doesn’t want you telling paying customers that your dick is bigger than theirs. A lesson in customer service for us all! I’ve lost count, but I believe he’s been fined $375,000 total this season alone, not including game checks missed for games he was suspended. In fairness to Ant, he’s tried to blow money in wilder ways.

  • On This Day in Sports History: In 1967, Muhammad Ali refused induction into the US Armed Forces

I can’t even wrap my head around this level of standing up for what you believe in. From myself or from high-profile athletes. Refusal to “serve” your country was a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Ali was quite literally risking his freedom. Yet he showed up to the induction knowing this and refused to step forward when his name was called. He was convicted of breaking the law and banished from boxing, and you know what he did? He went on a college tour and absolutely COOKED critics. Watch the man himself do that while also explaining his reasoning for not participating in the war.

  • Men’s UEFA Champions League Soccer Semifinals: Paris Saint-Germain @ Arsenal at 3:00 pm (ET) on CBS

I will not pretend to know anything about this except that whenever clubs compete for these prestigious cups, things get wild. The great thing is that you don’t really have to know too much beyond the basics to enjoy it either!

  • Men’s UEFA Champions League Soccer Semifinals: Internazionale @ Barcelona at 3:00 pm (ET) on CBS

In case you thought I was holding out on my soccer knowledge, I was extremely confused about this new club, “Internazionale,” but it turns out that I know them as Inter Milan. I’m roughly 73% confident in this information. But, again, none of that matters! Still enjoyable!

As always, thanks for reading! Make sure you subscribe and share with your friends so y’all can get it first thing Thursday morning and discuss it amongst yourselves!
